Palestine
- [Instagram] Last night, CSG zionists blocked a budget to send over $440,000 to rebuild Gaza’s education in a closed vote.
- In the last year of genocide, the zionist entity has systemically targeted Gaza’s education infrastructure and destroyed all 12 universities in the strip, and instead of voting to donate $440,000 to rebuild Gaza’s education, zionists refused to allow people to speak during public comment, cut off microphones mid speech during community concerns, and sneered as attendees read out testimonials of Gaza’s students currently living under siege. At the end of the meeting, UMPD officers escorted zionist assembly members out of the building and threatened to arrest protestors for chanting even while we were clearing out the build.
- [Instagram] Brown University said Wednesday it will not divest from 10 companies identified by student campaigners as tied to the Israeli military and its ongoing occupation of Palestinian territory.
- The Ivy League school in Providence, Rhode Island, is one of many educational institutions in the United States where students set up encampments in the spring to protest ties to Israel amid the war on Gaza. Students at Brown agreed to clear the encampment in April after securing an agreement that the school would study their divestment demands. Their target list included Boeing, Northrop Grumman and other weapons makers.

- [Instagram] “They never took advantage of it. You know, as a developer, it (Gaza) could be the most beautiful place.”
- In a radio interview with right-wing host Hugh Hewitt on October 7, former US President Donald Trump claimed that he visited Gaza, despite there being no evidence of the purported trip.
- During the interview, Trump lamented that Palestinians did not “take advantage” of Gaza’s coastline and that developers could make it “better than Monaco” — because, he said, it has “the best location in the Middle East, the best water, the best everything."
- The Republican presidential candidate’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, made similar remarks in March, saying that Gaza’s “waterfront property could be very valuable.”
Brown's governing body has now shut the door on any divestment related to Israel, voting Tuesday to accept the findings of an advisory committee that deemed the school's exposure to the 10 companies to be "so small that it could not be directly responsible for social harm."
By accepting the recommendation, Brown "is stating its clear position opposing divestment," administrators said in a letter to the campus community on Wednesday.
Just days ago, Brown announced that its endowment grew by 11.3% over the previous year and is now worth $7.2 billion.

Student Intifada
- [Instagram] Students at Pomona College getting active on campus! On Monday 10/7 about 100 students from the Claremont Colleges held a divestment rally that led to the occupation of Carnegie Hall at Pomona College on Monday.
- Once inside the building, protestors used signs to obscure windows and barricaded/zip-tied exits. They were all masked/bloc-ed up and escaped without arrest. No face, no case!

- On Oct. 7, one year after the beginning of the Zionist entity’s intensified genocide in Palestine, student protesters took over Pomona College’s Carnegie Hall for nearly five hours to demand divestment. Students hung a banner out a window renaming the building Refaat Alareer University, after the Palestinian poet and professor killed by a Zionist airstrike on Dec. 6, 2023.
- At peak, at least 200 student protesters were inside Carnegie Hall. The takeover followed a 480-person mass walkout at 10:07 a.m. Organizers announced to the crowd that they would vacate the building by 4 p.m.
- Almost all students and professors previously inside the building left through the front and back doors shortly after protesters entered, including a group of high school students participating in Pomona's fly-in program. In the then-empty classrooms, students hosted teach-ins on Palestinian resistance, medical skills and protestors’ rights.
- During the building takeover, students ziptied the front entrance closed, but kept the back doors open for exiting. Some students also spray painted "INTIFADA," "FREE PALESTINE" and "FUCK POMONA" on the walls and elevator of Carnegie Hall.
- When students attempted to leave the building at 3:35 p.m., Associate Dean of Students Brandon Jackson physically blocked the back exit, restraining students while ordering them to show identification. The students eventually pushed through and all students left the building.
- On Oct. 8, Pomona Divest from Apartheid, Students for Justice in Palestine and HMC Dissenters jointly posted an Instagram post titled “Dear Pomona College: Carnegie was not under occupation, Palestine is."
- “Today, we built a community space that allowed for the radical transfer of knowledge between students from different walks of life. We are stronger than ever. We will not stop, we will not rest,” the post read.
- Another PDfA post asked students contacted with disciplinary charges reach out from a non-school email to pomonadivestapartheid@proton.me.
Russia
- NEO-NAZIS ATTACK ON KOMSOMOL MEMBER
- Russia blocks instant messaging platform Discord, TASS reports
❗️ A group of neo-Nazi skinheads attacked our comrade from Yaroslavl, Timur Gungasov. He was beaten and suffered a concussion.
đźš© We consider this a terrible crime, we demand that everyone disseminate information about the attack, help in finding information about the attackers, and also ask for attention from law enforcement agencies. It is important to note that this is not the first case of an attack on Komsomol members in Yaroslavl.
⚠️ Such attacks are a reflection of the growth of nationalist and neo-Nazi sentiments in our country. This trend is very dangerous, especially in the context of the fight against neo-fascism. We cannot allow this and leave the attackers unpunished!
đźš« NO TO FASCISM!
WE DEMAND PUNISHMENT FOR NEO-NAZIS!
