Undercurrents on Instagram: "Since Oct. 7, 2024, Pomona admin has initiated disciplinary proceedings for at least 20 Pomona students, related to that day’s protest for divestment from genocide in Palestine. Starr’s new decision, which she announced in an email this morning around 9 a.m., cancels fact-finding meetings and Judicial Council hearings for half of them, moving them immediately to suspension. Several students’ proceedings were set to begin this week. Instead, they now have only five days to make an appeal directly to the Dean of Students. The college has not shared individual evidence of policy violations with any of the 20 students who faced charges. Undercurrents has verified through our own reporting and photos that at least one of the students was never inside Carnegie Hall on Oct. 7, 2024. Pomona’s Dean of Students also banned dozens of other Claremont students from its campus for the academic year, preventing them from attending Pomona classes or events in-person. The Dean of Students also did not share any evidence with banned students."
