Greetings comrades! I've got a fascinating project to tell people about right off the top:
I recently found a First Edition print of the English book, "Our Lenin." This is a gorgeous book made originally for children featuring the story of Lenin's life accompanied by stunning illustrations!
My goal is to make this book public to everyone. Currently, I'm making scans, taking videos, and even working on an audiobook recording (for another Lenin book).
It's a crucial time to be preserving and sharing labor history. Around the world, we see Soviet books and monuments destroyed. These books were the hopes of the American people in the 1930s; they looked to Lenin as we do now. Help me save books and busts from destruction by supporting me on Ko-fi.
Read more in the Art section about how you can help us rescue more books. You’ll also find extra pictures of “Our Lenin.”

Comrades, I'm so thankful to report that I was able to rescue the book, “Our Lenin”! I had previously only seen one copy available for a staggering $400. On a random whim two weeks ago, I thought to search eBay, and there it was!
I was a little sad to see that the cover got a new scuff in transit, but that's the way of things. Each mark leaves a bit of history behind. That being said, I aim to keep all of these items in the best possible condition, with relative humidity control, shielding from the sun, and protection from those that would otherwise destroy it.
It is my goal to digitize this and other books so everyone can access these works. History is no good to us buried in a box - it must live in our minds.
Why should I rescue books and historical socialist items?
While doing my undergraduate degree, I had a wonderful opportunity to work for a historical preservation site. Though I had always had respect for historical items, it taught me a new way of preserving history.
As I mentioned in the opener, it’s an extremely important time to be doing this work: Soviet books and monuments are being destroyed each day. The struggle against fascism is being villainized, while the Nazis are considered heroes for fighting communism. ABSURD.
How can you help me rescue more items?
I've implemented a new way for you to save history with me: Ko-fi can now "Adopt a book" from the shop. I've made the system super easy and flexible. You pay what you want to donate, and at checkout, you receive a PDF copy of the book, a video tour, and other supporting documents. We want to make these books public to everyone, so in about one month, I will make a public post with the book, crediting you for the project!
This will be a fun way to work together to keep history alive. Everything we do with this project will be as transparent as possible. I want you to feel like you own a piece of this history because it's our history: the legacy of the working class.

“There is nothing loftier and nobler than to follow Lenin, to selflessly wage the struggle for the cause which he devoted his life.”
Beautiful pictures from the Young Pioneers of America, which was a an organization run by the Communist Party USA. These are real traditional values worth fighting for: international proletarianism.
I love the photo of the pioneers working with Red Army guys. It was attached to the story about sending pioneers to the USSR.
Interestingly, this trip took place 99 years ago, almost to this day.
“Working women, take up a rifle!” Today marks 130 years since the birth of Soviet poet Mayakovsky. He fought against the idea of Lenin being turned into a harmless grandfather. Sadly, the same treatment was done to him upon his death — statues were unveiled in his honor while the degenerating Soviet state censored his works.
“In a 1923 editorial for the Left Art Front (LEF) journal he helped found, Mayakovsky wrote:
“We insist
Don’t stereotype Lenin
Don’t print his portrait on placards, stickybacks, plates, mugs and cigarette cases.
Don’t bronze-over Lenin
Don’t take from him the living gait and countenance.”
