ABOUT
Albert Rhys Williams, an American journalist, arrived in Russia in the middle of 1917 and witnessed the collapse of the old regime and the victory of the Great October Socialist Revolution. During those stormy months, he saw the demonstrations of revolutionary masses, the storming of the Winter Palace in Petrograd, and the triumphant march of Soviet power across the country. His book "Through the Russian Revolution" recounts these events.
Williams had the opportunity to meet Lenin on several occasions, speak with him at a meeting, and observe the great revolutionary leader in his everyday work and life. He wrote about Lenin with great warmth in his book "Lenin: The Man and His Work".
After another visit to the Soviet Union in 1931, he published the article "The Greatest Reception Room in the World," which is also devoted to Lenin.
This volume contains all these works by Albert Rhys Williams, revised by the author and supplied with an introduction he wrote for the Russian edition during his stay in the Soviet Union in 1959.
