I know the working class can build a society with a system that compensates women and caregivers for their domestic labor and the nurturing work needed for children, the disabled, and the elderly, rather than a society that expects (mostly) women to do this work unpaid. It favors the capitalists to have families financially strapped, exhausted and divided but the human reality is that a lot of families want to be with their children more than they want to be away at work and those children want their parents. We can build a system that allows families to thrive and gives parents the choice to go to work or be paid to provide a stable and nurturing environment for the future of humanity: our children. And don’t even get me started on the cost of childcare versus the low wages given to childcare workers!!
