Class antagonisms refer to the conflicts that arise between social classes due to differences in economic interests. These conflicts are often a result of economic exploitation, where one class benefits from the labor of another. In Marxist theory, the state arises as a manifestation of class antagonisms, and its purpose is to maintain the power of the ruling class over the exploited masses. The ultimate goal of communism is to eliminate class antagonisms by creating a classless society.
