Boris Berezovskii never received formal artistic education. From 1923 to 1924, he studied under the tutelage of Nikolai Grigoriev in Moscow. In 1949, he began to exhibit his works publicly. Throughout his artistic career, he produced designs for postage stamps as well as posters. The State Museum of Contemporary Russian History in Moscow holds a number of his posters in their collection.

The UPP (Printing Industry Management) managed the printers in cities around the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic carrying out jobs for the DVOU (State Publishing Association of Ukraine). In 1930, a resolution by the Ukrainian Central Committee created the DVOU making it the central administration for publications and literature distribution in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. The DVOU replaced the DVU (State Publishing of Ukraine) that had been in existence since 1922.

The Association of Artists of the Revolution was an artist cooperative from 1928 to 1932. From 1922-1928 it was called the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia. During the 1920s, the Association rose to prominence in the Soviet art world. It opened branches throughout the USSR, and it operated its own publishing house in Moscow at 25 Tsvetnoi Boulevard. The Association was abolished in 1932 when the government centralized a majority of independent arts organizations in the USSR.

The Kalinin Poligrafkombinat (printing plant) was located at 5 Lenin Avenue (formerly Voroshilov Street) in Kalinin (Tver) northwest of Moscow. Throughout its existence, the name of this printing plant changed depending on the various state-owned trusts that handled its management. During the mid-1950s into the 1970s, the plant was under the management of Glavpoligrafprom (Main Directorate of the Printing Industry).

The Poligrafkombinat (printing plant) of Kalinin was the printer for Sovnarkhoz RSFSR (the Regional Council of National Economy of the Russian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic). The history of IzoGiz begins with the formation of Ogiz, the Association of the State Book and Magazine Publishers.
