Several prominent Democratic lawmakers — including Sen. Sherrod Brown (Ohio) and Rep. Zoe Lofgren (Calif.) — on Friday joined calls to urge President Biden to exit the ticket, bringing the total number of congressional Democrats to do so to more than 35 according to a Washington Post tally. Earlier on Friday, campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that Biden is “absolutely” staying in the presidential race, calling him the “best person to take on Donald Trump.” The efforts come as the Republican ticket hits the campaign trail, with former president Donald Trump and his new running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), planning an appearance together at a rally in Michigan on Saturday. Biden continues to isolate in Delaware after testing positive for the coronavirus.
