Middle East Eye on Instagram: "More than half of Israeli adults say certain groups of social media posts related to Israel’s war on Gaza should not be allowed, such as content that is graphic, incites violence or expresses sympathy for civilians in Gaza, according to a recent survey by Pew Research Center. The percentage of Israelis who say that posts that express sympathy towards civilians in Gaza should be kept off social media is 60, about double the share who say such posts are acceptable. 92 percent of Israelis say that posts that call for violence have no place on social media, while 87 percent oppose posts that express support for Hamas. Additionally, 50 percent of Israelis believe that social media posts which criticise the Israeli government should be censored, while 41 percent disagree. The survey was conducted from March 3 to April 4, 2024, by Pew Research Center."
