Who
Who to agitate
- Soldiers - soldiers are some of our most exploited workers. Intentionally targeted because of their socio economic situation, they have been lied to and pressured into joining a “career” that uses them as cannon fodder to oppress and abuse our fellow proletarian around the world.
- Healthcare workers - health care workers should be convinced to refuse aid to police officers and other officials of the state.
- Teachers - teachers inform the minds of our young comrades. Teachers are under attack across the country and are under heavy scrutiny from the community.
- Factory workers - factory workers are the backbone of our production. They are forced to work in inhumane conditions (often being forced to work next to dead bodies of those that have died on the production line). These workers need to be made aware that they are being treated worse than meat at the butcher, at least the butcher keeps the meat away from other corpses.
- Office workers - office workers have the ability to divert funds and goods to the revolutionary struggle. They also have the ability to slow down the wheels of bureaucracy that affect our work. Office Workers can be especially useful in diverting supplies away from organs of the current state such as diverting ammunition, food supplies, and other such vital equipment from government agencies to community organizations.
- Farmers -
- Sales Employees -
Who to avoid:
- Police
- Federal agents
- Racists, homophobes, or other bigots - these groups will need to be deprogrammed before they can be agitated. They must first care that they are dividing the working class before they can be taught to stop dividing us.
We avoid agitating these groups because they have a specific interest in the state retaining power - most of these people will be held accountable for murders after the revolution. They need the state to remain for their personal safety and the retention of their salary/quality of living.
Police and Federal Agents have the authority to create false charges and arrest you for agitation, though they may call it “disturbing the peace”
How to deprogram & agitate
Understanding their disposition
The first step to agitating a person is learning what concerns and motivates them. Are they worried about personal safety? Are they worried about their property? Are they worried about losing their position in society?
Many Americans (not exclusively white people) have clawed their way to some sense of protection and normalcy in their lives. They have dug themselves out a nice little hole within the system that meets their basic needs. Within this hole, they are safe. They see our attempt to change the system as an attempt to ruin what they have built. We must help them understand that what they see as a palace of safety is simply their dark corner in the jail cell.
Typical concerns:
- Safety - Personal and family safety
- Protection of personal property - this can include home, car, food, money
- Personal freedoms - we must remind people that they are not free within our system. If they are not feeling oppressed it is because they:
- Have not experienced oppression yet (eventually they will)
- Do not understand what oppression looks like in their life (you can help them find ways they are oppressed)
- Conspiracy theories - this is dangerous territory. If the person you are talking to believes in massive conspiracy theories like a global cabal of Jewish people or some such fascist myth, you should be very careful. The person is likely to be unreliable even if you can convince them, though it is doubtful that you can. They will likely always chase shadows instead of accepting the most obvious solution.
How to agitate a person
- Diagnose the concerns of the individual
- Use Marxist theory (logic) to create appeals to emotion based on their concerns
- Do not overwhelm them with information or become overly defensive
- To win someone to your cause, it is helpful to make them think it was their idea initially
- Fighting with the individual will only sow distrust between your solutions to their concerns
- Remember that you are talking to a comrades, a fellow brother, sister, etc. of the struggle
When to agitate
Tragic Events
- Tragic events (national or local) that have been caused by capitalist negligence or malice should be politicized and used to our advantage.
- You are doing honor to the victims by using their loss as a form of martyrdom.
- Use the names of those fallen and their involvement as workers, activists, and as family members to invoke feelings of great sadness and rage.
- Guide their anger and rage by applying Marxist theory to direct their hostility
When radicalizing a fellow worker, it is imperative that you direct their aggression to the capitalist system.
As a trained response, many individuals will immediately direct their anger to:
1. A failing aspect of the state “oh, if we only offered more police training. Oh, if we only had better safety regulations. Oh if only the billionaires had MORE money, then all of our problems would disappear.”
2. Conspiracies: “It’s the global Jewish cabal! It’s the gays teaching our kids! If only we had a strong theocratic dictatorship to save us!!”
As you can see in these examples, conservative minded folks will look for a scape goat that does not blame capitalism. Instead they will look for ways capitalists can be given more power to control their lives. They have been trained to believe that “more power to the capitalists” is always the solution.
People have been taught they cannot save themselves, and that they instead need a “strong man” to save them. Even self proclaimed “alpha men” will still default to this tendency as it is a proven psychological trait: when challenged, people defer to “authority figures” even if they do not have authority. See for more information.
How to Win the People
Personal loss and trauma
- Personal loss and trauma is one of the most important factors for radicalization
- Many people are unwilling to help community movements until they see a reason to do so
- We are trained to wait for help instead of giving aid when someone is in need (Learn more about the Bystander Effect)
- Sympathizing and redirecting their pain
- As stated above, many people will attempt to console themselves by finding an easy scapegoat for their troubles, but unlike above’s “Tragic Events”, personal loss will haunt the person for a much longer time. Unlike a national event, personal loss will affect every decision they make going forward.
- It is imperative that their personal loss is framed to them in a way that prevents them from blaming traditional scapegoats and instead redirects their aggression towards the state.
- It is also important that they do not become solo actors “taking matters into their own hands” as these individuals are unpredictable and will be used by the state to agitate others against our communist cause.
- Emphasize their need to join socialist/communist organizations for comradery and familial support.
